'Heyy Babyy' stays at a 58%, all eyes on 'Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag'
'Heyy Babyy' stays at a 58%, all eyes on 'Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag'
Heyy Babyy has hit the bulls eye both with the critics and at the box office. The film is already a big hit and may even cross the last major hit, Partner (58%). Both films are masala comedies with big starcasts, and both have fared the same with the critics, with both tied at a 58%, which is 'Above Average' and two points away from scoring a 'Good' tag.

We now have 35 reviews for Heyy Babyy, and it sits firmly with a 58%. Of the 35 reviews in for the film, 21 have been positive, 7 have been average and 7 have been negative. In the AllBollywood.com review for Heyy Babyy, Subhash K. Jha calls the film "funny. And when it's not funny, it's quite heart-warmingly touching... honestly". Meanwhile, all eyes are now on the most controversial film of the year, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag. Much has been written about the film, and we are just hours away from seeing if Ram Gopal Varma has created a worthy remake of yesteryear classic Sholay or not. However, Varma does have history on his side.

With the exception of Shiva (31%), Varma's films have almost all been critically acclaimed. Of Varma's recent releases, Nishabd this year scored surprisingly well with critics, scoring a 54% which is 'Above Average'. However it should be noted that a lot of the criticism towards the film was towards it's theme, not it's content. Not scoring near as well was Shiva at a 31%, which is really bad. That film will go down as Varma's worst film that he's directed so far. But his last major outing, 2005's Sarkar, was a huge hit both at the box office and with the critics. With the critics the film scored a 69% which is 'Good' and 1 point away from being labelled with a 'Very Good' tag. It was the fourth best reviewed film of 2005, only slightly below Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (70%) and Parineeta (also at a 69%), although well below the best reviewed film of 2005, Black (79%).
