The majestic sets of Ashutosh Gowariker's historical
Jodhaa Akbar have been the topic of discussion, both in and outside the industry.
The grandeur, splendour, and opulence of the magnificent palaces and forts seems to have caught the attention of film goers in India and out. Which has prompted the filmmakers and the sets creator, Nitin Chandrakant Desai, to open the gates of the studio [N.D. Studios, where the film was shot] to the public.
"I decided against dismantling the sets after Devdas," Nitin says, "After having watched the sets on screen, a lot of people were keen to visit the studios and watch them in real. It's also heart-breaking to dismantle the sets that have been painstakingly created over a period of time. That's when I decided to retain the sets of Jodhaa Akbar and throw open the gates of the studio for tourists, on the lines of Universal Studios in Los Angeles."
The gates aren't open for tourists yet, however, they might be in time. After paying a nominal fee, the tourist will be able to visit the Jodhaa Akbar sets.
