LG Responds To Article About Dropping Abhishek BachchanThe Economic Times had falsely in an article dated Feb 28, 2008 that LG wasn't keen on signing Abhishek Bachchan and was planning to 'drop' him due to box office.

LG responded by sending this letter to Abhishek Bachchan:

Dear Mr. Abhishek Bachchan

Greetings from LG Electronics.

This is with reference to the article titled "LG to drop Abhishek as ambassador" published in the Economic Times issue dated 28th February 2008.

I would like to express my disappointment and disapproval that such a malicious article was published by The Economic Times without any authentic version from official spokesperson of my organization.

I would like to bring to your notice that the article does not reflect true views of LG. The article is also not based on input provided by LG spokesperson, but was a mere speculative piece from the journalist. Futhermore, he used his own thoughts and views while writing the article; we were not contacted for this story and were completely unaware about this.

We truly believe that you are a youth icon and this association has helped our brand in line with our expectation, We wanted to extend this Partnership and wanted you to endorse all our categories but because of your prior commitment to other brands, it could not be possible. In future we are open to all the possibilities. I would like to extend my best wishes for all your future endeavors.

Warn regards,

Moon B Shin

Managing Director
