John Abraham New Euro 2008 Brand AmbassadorOn Friday UEFA European Football has roped in Bollywood actor John Abraham as brand ambassador for the 2008 Championship to be held in June in Switzerland and Austria.

Managing Director of ESPN Software India R C Venkateish, unveiled a detailed promotional campaign for the the tournament, 'Bach Ke Kahan Jaoge', to be kicked off on 7 June.

"India today consumes more international soccer than ever before. We expect impressive ratings for UEFA Euro 2008 as it is one of the most prestigious and recognised sporting events in the world," Venkateish said.

In a bid attract more football enthusiasts around the country, the promotional campaign will beam the tournament live.

With large soccer viewership base in Hindi speaking regions of the country as a goal, the broadcaster has also announced separate Hindi coverage.

"The championship is rated as the second biggest sporting event globally when it comes to TV viewership and we believe that this year television viewership will touch even greater heights," he said.

The 31-match-tournament will be held in eight cities - Basel, Geneva, Vienna, Klagenfurt, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Zurich and Berne.

The final will be played in Vienna on 29 June.
